Healing people was important to Jesus, important enough for him to give two-thirds of his supernatural, miraculous, transforming energy to it. But time and time again he used the opportunity to heal someone as a practical way of teaching us something else.
Something that is as equally relevant for us today as it was 2,000 years ago. Let’s dig deeper then, let’s go on a journey together with Jesus through some of the wonderful teaching that he shares with us through five of these astonishing healing miracles over the next five blog posts…
Study 1: The man lowered through the roof
Study 2: Bartimaeus, a man born blind
Study 3: A man who was deaf and couldn’t speak
Study 4: A man who had leprosy
Study 5: A woman who had a condition that made her bleed
Each Study Plan includes:
1. The Bible references to explore the story in the Gospels.
2. A ‘Key Word/Phrase’ that is really important for us to consider.
3. A ‘Surprise’ in what Jesus says or does.
4. The ‘Key Teaching’ from the story.
5. Some ‘Discussion Questions’ for you to consider individually or discuss together.
Alongside the downloadable study plans in each session (click on the links below), watch the video clips from a talk given at Frinton Free Church that shares more thoughts on each of these miraculous healings:
