If a picture paints a thousand words, I wonder how many a video paints? This four-and-a-half minute video, which I recorded with Urban Saints, provides you with seven tips to help and encourage you to make your children’s or youth work more accessible and inclusive, and to create belonging for everyone. There are loads of links to other resources, videos and information to help you too!
In the video I mention one-page profiles and these can be downloaded from the Sheffkids website. Look on the ‘Adults’ area, then choose ‘Resources’, or just click here: One-page profiles and you’ll find them along with loads of other useful stuff!
If you want to know more about how appointing an Inclusion Champion can help your group, have a look at this video: Inclusion Champions and I’ve also made a video that helps you to know more about fiddles boxes: Fiddles Boxes
I mention the additional needs article series on the Urban Saints Energize resources website, which you can find here: Energize and I reference the additional needs ministry pages of the Urban Saints website, which you can see here: Additional Needs
If you would like to see a 30-minute version of this video, unpacking some of these tips in more depth, then you can find that right here: ‘All Inclusive?’ Taster Session Maybe you would like a longer version of this training to be brought to your children’s and youth team, to specifically focus on helping you in your setting and with the children and young people you work with? We can provide two-hour weekday evening sessions, or anything up to a whole day on Saturdays; do contact me for details at marnold@urbansaints.org
I hope you find these resources helpful and that they encourage and inspire you to make your children’s and youth work more accessible, inclusive, and a place of belonging for everyone.
Blessings,
Mark
