Hello! My name is Mark… welcome to our accessible session, are we still ‘glowing in the dark’? In this final session we’re going to explore how God’s Holy Spirit can help us to ‘glow on and on!’
Reading: Acts 17: 22-28 (I’m reading from the ‘Accessible Edition’ NT)
Paul talked to the people of Athens, a city in Greece, about the ‘unknown God’. He is not an unknown God to us, he is our God! Paul talked about how God doesn’t live in a building, but is everywhere, bringing life to everyone. He does this through his Holy Spirit, the same Holy Spirit that helps us to glow!
We sometimes think of church as a place, a building, but really it’s the people that are the church; it’s us, we’re the church! Wherever we go, we can be the church to other people, sharing the glow of God’s Holy Spirit and the joy and love of Jesus everywhere. Where will you glow today?
We’ve learned about Peter and Paul and the other believers that lived a long time ago, but now it’s our turn. We are ‘Acts 29’, the unwritten chapter, the story is not finished yet! It’s our turn to glow on and on together, sharing with others and serving God everywhere. What are you going to do to glow on and on for God today, tomorrow and every day?
Prayer: Lord, help us to glow on and on for you. Give us opportunities to glow every day and to pass the glow on to others. Help us to glow together brightly! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
